ERP established four hectares of a community-based environmental demonstration farm in Maridi County in 2007, and since then ERP has distributed 30,000 first growing trees to the communities in Maridi to prevent dependency on the natural forest which is being depleted by illegal logging.   Communities now have much more options of biomass as well as building materials due to the accessibility to seedlings and the demonstration center. Dependence on the natural forest has substantially reduced in Maridi over the past eight years of its ERP existence
